Fashion is hard. The people who disagree are the same people who say cheerleading isn’t a sport. As an editorial intern, I’ve spent hours (literally) scrolling through fashion blogs for the perfect pictures to source in various fashion articles and I’ve never seen the same post twice. So before I start my first fashion article, I just want to give a shout-out to the fashion bloggers who manage to stay current, creative, and able to show me that there’s more than one way I can style my skinny white jeans.

Weekends are for brunch. It’s a known fact. I really don’t actually care what time I slept on Saturday night – you can find me on Sunday morning pretending that I can afford that $15 omelette that I drowned in tabasco sauce.
On this particular weekend, I went to Tiny Boxwoods – the type of restaurant you go to in Houston when you want to eat brunch in natural lighting while being reminded of the grace of southern charm.
My outfit was based off how it looked casual without trying too hard. In addition to this, I’m also going through a phase of wearing off-the-shoulder-tops (it used be crop tops in college so I think this is me growing as a person, I’m not sure) so this was my go-to outfit. Another reason I wanted to wear it was because I bought it from Aspen Luna, a boutique that my sorority sister, Corrina, is an owner of.
As a fun and flowing top, the tassels on it were the extra touch that made it officially 2017 trendy. Paired with my favorite white pants and a neutral clutch, this outfit is fitting for summer and gives off the carefree vibes that I actually have at all times (it’s fine, I’m fine).
And of course, I couldn’t forget my Steve Madden nude strap heels. Nude heels are the shoes that won’t ever betray you – it’s pretty much a universal rule in the fashion world. They go with everything and make your outfit come off as sophisticated regardless if you’re walking into brunch or stumbling out of your bar (no judgement – I’ll eat brunch for the both of us the next day).
